Fr. Gilen+, a native of Boise, Idaho, and a priest of the Episcopal Diocese of Idaho, moved to Middletown, MD, with his wife Patricia in 2019. Both wanted to be closer to their daughters and their families. His career was mostly in academics, retiring as an emeritus professor of theology from Duquesne University (Pittsburgh), where he taught from 1985 to 2008. His academic career began in 1973, upon completion of his Ph.D. at St. Michael's College in the University of Toronto.
Since coming to Maryland, he has regularly served as a supply priest for the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland, as needed. Besides enjoying being with his wife Pat and their family, he loves playing the (Basque) accordion and a good game of golf.
