During the school year, children's education is provided during our second service. This program is open to ages 6-14, while younger children are encouraged to join with an adult. After reading a passage from the bible, students participate in a related craft or activity (supplies provided) and are given time to play in the classroom. Children typically rejoin their families for sharing the peace and the Holy Eucharist. A calendar of events is distributed at the beginning of fall and spring semesters.
We have a children's room connected to the sanctuary, with windows into the sanctuary and an auditory feed to allow full participation in the service. This space is intended for nursing mothers and parents of young children who need a place to go during the service. While childcare is not currently offered, if you are interested in having this service in the future, please see our Youth Minister, Amy Jacocks.
Classes resume Sept 15th, 2024. No classes are held on major holidays unless specified in the calendar of events.
Children meet upstairs near the nursery room at the beginning of the 10:15am service and will be led downstairs to the children's classroom by program staff.
Children's program staff are certified to teach children through Frederick county, have passed background checks, and/or have taken "Safeguarding God's Children" training through the Diocese of Maryland.
