Hamp Tisdale

John H. (“Hamp”) Tisdale graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served on active duty for four years, ultimately retiring as a commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve. In 1974 he graduated from Washington and Lee University School of Law and came to Frederick County to practice law. (He joined the Church of the Transfiguration the same  year.) He was later appointed as judge of the Circuit Court for Frederick County, Maryland, where he served for 17 years. He has served several terms as Senior Warden.
